It'll make it louder in a way that sounds like absolute garbage

I removed my muffler, and replaced it with a 30" long piece with a 45 turn down at the end just in front of the axle. sounds damn good and no too loud under normal driving, but does get a little raspy around 5000rpm+ Its all preference really.

Yes, it makes it too loud. No, it doesn't effect power or MPG.

For people that remove their muffler or cat, how do you handle your state inspection each year?

Unless you know a guy, or live in a county without emissions, you'll fail the inspection without a muffler or cats. Removing the muffler causes your truck to sound like an obnoxious ragged out redneck pos. But hey, some people are into that.

You dont have to have a muffler in Va to pass inspection. Only certain areas up around Richmond really give a crap.

Plenty of videos on youtube of the 5.0 without a muffler.
