Default Are most spacers equal?

I am thinking of getting a spacer level. I've read that some people have a preference to certain brands while others say a spacer is a spacer.

If they all are the same, why shouldn't I just go buy the $50 ones? Are the $100+ spacers really that much better. I know it's only a difference of $50 or so but I don't see why I should pay double for similar quality and functioning items.

Thanks. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to try and attempt to install it my self. I heard it's not that bad but I just don't want to mess something up.

I did mine in my driveway in about 45 minutes. Not bad at all, if you have the proper tools. Prybar, breaker bar, and the right sockets. I had the tools already.

Keep in mind you'll probably need an alignment even if you do it yourself. My local dealer didn't charge that much for labor to do the full install.

I have run spacers and true leveling kits from Rancho and like my Rancho set up a list better. You can get the Rancho quick lift for $400 all day long.

I wouldn't say steel. Aluminum is fine as well. Just not the plastic/composite kind.
I have a $40 set of 2.5" in mine that work great. Not sure why some people insist on paying $100+ for them.
