Mode Memory Switch
I’ve got the center console version, and it can be a bit wonky at times. What I’ve noted is, if I’m in the truck and I shut the doors before starting the engine, the memory module appears to work perfectly every time. If I start the truck with the door open, or I’m messing with parking brakes or doing anything that makes a pop-up message appear on the info screen during the start up process, the module often goes out of whack and I end up with a mode that differs from that which I last selected. I haven’t exactly pin pointed all of the causal factors and conditions. That said, I think this is probably partially the fault of the unit and partially the fault of the truck itself. There have been numerous times that I’ve been in the process of selecting my desired drive mode on the shift ****, when a message pops up (due to releasing parking brake or whatever) and my driving mode selection ended up getting nulled out and I had to start the process over again. This was before the mode memory module was installed so there is definitely an issue with the truck itself.

I've had no issues with the mode switch not working as it should from the factory.
I've tried 2 of these Mode Memory Switches. The first did nothing, then would randomly change the mode to whatever.
Ok, I got a bad one, and they sent a new one. The 2nd one failed 3 of the first 5 tries. I tried it once more, and it worked.
I then tried it over a dozen more times, and again several times the next day, each time it worked correctly.
I thought, great, it works, and posted this thread. Only for the very next time I started the truck, and multiple times after, for it not to change from normal mode, or to set itself where ever.
To me that is not acceptable, especially given their response. I didn't pay for a device to turn my mode switch into lottery mode.
I want what they advertised, a switch that saves the mode the truck was in when it was last turned off.
There is too much tech in these vehicles for someone to admittingly say that they don't know why their product can't do what it claims, and in their own defense say that they don't have a truck or enough time with one to properly test or find out.
That is asking for trouble. Let me sell you a $49 switch, it may or may not do as I claim, and I don't know why. So what other things is or isn't it doing, as well as potential damage.
I cannot comprehend leaving it on the truck for those reasons. Yours doing the same thing is all the more proof to me.
They should Not be selling this product.
If it were my business, it would be pulled from sales immediately, and a refund offered for all sold.
If they can correct it, and prove it to be safe an effective, great.
Otherwise...
These guys are incompetent on so many levels it's ridiculous.
How are you satisfied with a product that does what it claims only some of the time? Meanwhile, doing who knows what.
It's not a stretch to see the thing get hot, cause a short, or even a fire.
I wish no personal harm to any buyer, or the seller, but this thing needs the plug pulled.
LOL, I get everything you’re saying, and can’t really claim that I’m fully satisfied, but it works 90% of the time for me and I can usually predict when it won’t work (when I change up my routine). I use sport mode 100% of the time unless I’m towing, and I despise having to mow through the mode selections every time I start the truck, so I’ve decided to just live with the quirkiness for now. I’d love to tune the truck and bypass both this and the auto start/stop forever but warranty issues concern me too much. You’re right, if this thing ever caused a fire it would suck. Low likelihood but who knows.
