If my 2018 5.0L with auto stop/start has a check valve my oil sucker setup manages to get around it. I can get all but about 2 ounces out. Checked by removing the drain plug afterwards. Good enough for me.

FWIW, if you have a Mercedes and take it to the dealership for an oil change it is likely done by tube evacuation according to the MB dealership in my town.

Somebody posted on another thread that it only applied to EBs (only being able to suck 2 quarts), and now you have confirmed that to be the case. But hey, the engine burns all the oil, so no need to even suck it, no? Ha ha. Just kidding brother .

A Ford parts counter guy on another forum stated that this check valve thing in the dipstick channel is *only* on the 2.7 motor with the two piece engine block.
