Default Mityvac oil suction machines

Thinking of buying one of the Mityvac oil suction systems for changing oil in my 2016 F150 with twin-turbo V-6 Ecoboost motor. They offer a hand pump model as well as a pneumatic version. Anyone use one of these systems and if so, good or bad? Mityvac model numbers? Thank you for your feedback!

I have THIS One and have been happy with it. I’ve used it on oil, diffs, and transmissions. I also use it on brakes with THIS optional kit. I debated getting the pneumatic version but didn’t want to have to be tied to the compressor. The pump version works just fine and a few pumps goes a long way. You can also push fluid for filling with the pump version as well.

Thanks! Mityvac offers a bunch of models. Which of the hand pump units did you get?

If you click on the word THIS in my post it will take you to the one I have. It’s a 7201.

Mine can be used with either compressed air or manually. Best of both worlds.

the need: draining the 10 speed transmission in the future

I have a 7201, it works great. I've used it for all sorts of stuff. Original use was to do oil changes on some jet skis.

I wouldn't use it to transfer gas - definitely don't let the gas sit in it overnight at least. Gas cracked the lid and damaged some parts.

I don't think it makes sense for oil changes on our trucks but whatever floats your boat.

Which engine do you have - 2.7l or 3.5l?

An oil extractor will not work on the 2.7l - trust me, I tried. I was hoping it would so I didn't have to put my truck up on ramps plus deal with the large cover underneath.

I was baffled as to why I only got a spurt of oil with the extractor until I finally found out why. I've used my Pela oil extractor successfully on many vehicles and equipment over the years.

Here is a diagram of why it won't work. The dipstick tube does not go directly into the oil sump.

Wow, very interresting. Does this check valve design apply to other engine model? What it’s purpose?
