Missed Sale opportunity ford Ford, here is why...

You obviously don't know how to bargain or haggle. I got a 2016 FX4 XLT Sport 302A, seats wrapped in leather, bedliner, 7 year bumper to bumper, 5 year wheels and tires out the door for 36K. TTL financed at 38500.
I see you are in Texas, I have heard there are a ton of deals there to be had. So, good for you. Every region is different. Up here, not so much as down there. For instance, I was able to get almost 4k off my Tacoma here in Pa, in Socal they are going for MSRP.
So you are buying this truck with the plan of getting rid of it? No wonder you don't want an F150. We keep ours til the death

You wanted a certain trim F150...
You couldn't afford it...
You ended up buying a Tacoma because it was cheaper and could afford it (nothing wrong with buying within your means)...
You come on here to bash Ford because you couldn't afford it...
If you were truly happy with the Tacoma and thought it was better than the F150 you wouldn't even be on this forum complaining. You're like the guy with a new girlfriend who keeps talking about how terrible his ex-gf was because secretly you want the ex-gf back (hint: The F150 is the ex-gf in this scenario)

I don't see the OP as so much bellyaching, but it is a bit perplexing why this sort of post would be made on a Ford forum. I would have just bought the other brand and moved on with my life. Ford Isn't going to read it and even if they do, they won't care. They watch for trends, not a single satisfied buyer who went elsewhere.
It's 180 degrees the opposite from the OP experiences here. Ford wheeled and dealed, ended up getting a scootch20G off my 2016.
Toyota dealers were F'n ignorant pr**ks. Unbelievably insulting low ball on any kind of trade in and you're doing good to get 500-1000 off their price. Some yuppy kid not fit to polish my shoes trying to tell me about the cars when I was more knowledgeable about them than he was. I men really, how knowledgeable can you be when you can't remember it's called a "transfer case" and not "that thing that makes the front and rear wheels turn".....sheesh.
I looked at the Tacoma and the Tundra. Didn't like either.
Tacoma I had to fold myself into (I'm only 5'9") and it was terribly small inside. I felt like I was sitting on the floor and the roof was tight down around my head. Worse visibility I'd ever seen (or is that not seen? LOL!). Disgustingly overpriced for what it was. Far cry from the old solid front axle r22 I used to beat to hell and back when I was a kid.
Tundra was the "1794" option, whatever the hell that means. Pretty sure Toyota wasn't building trucks (or cars) in 1794. I sat in it and I swear to gawd it was copied straight off the previous generation F-150 Limited. Right down to the round vent ports and the stupid center console with a plate right where you would rest your arm. The exterior styling was even worse. The front looked like a big flat slab of chrome. The price was beyond unbelievably ridiculous.
I'm glad you're happy with your Toyota. I couldn't stand them. I'll take my "poor residuals" for a truck I can be happy with. For me that was an f150.
P.S. I hope you don't get the "Tacoma Kazoo"....that will drive you nuts. Guys are still getting it on 2016/17's.......

I'm fully on the dealerships side. People come in to low ball me all the time, then say they'll buy it elsewhere. You know what, the next day a customer pays full price for that unit. Why would I sell for less? Or make almost nothing? We all have bills to pay, a dealership NEEDS to make a profit or they simply won't be there for long. Customers need to remain reasonable, I keep hearing people wanting to pay $200 over invoice, no doc fee etc. Really? A dealership can survive on $200 a unit? Come on folks.... time to get reasonable again.

I would love to pay 200 over invoice, but I know it's not going to happen.
I try to deal "straight up" with whoever I'm taking with.
But it is a business deal.
They're not my friend, I'm not theirs.
My objective is to pay as little as possible, their objective is to get me to pay as much as possible.
I've got no problem with someone making a fair profit, but the definition of "fair" is somewhat in question.
I'm pretty much sure it's a fair price when I come away thinking I paid a little too much and they think they've gone a little too low. That's usually the sweet spot where they make a fair profit and I get the best deal.
If we are just too far apart, I just say thanks and walk away. That's business.
PS. for every one of those "lowballers" who pay full price the next day I've probably got a call the next day from the dealer looking to make a deal with a little more movement. It's just part of the game...nothing personal, just business.

But now when someone asks you what kind of truck you have. You are realy going to say I have a Toyota. Instead of I have a ford. Ford owns the truck game.
