Default Mirror Cap Replacement

Hey guys,

Wondering where some have bought mirror caps from? I’m going to have them painted by a shop so colour doesn’t matter. Any links are helpful.

If it's of interest, replace the mirror turn signals with sequential LEDs at the same time and it actually makes the install easier. Instead of popping off the caps, you take the whole back of the mirror off and can easily remove the caps from there.

eBay. My truck is Shadow Black and I grabbed a gloss black set for less than $40. That price range only applied to black. Maybe additional colors exist at that price point. Mine are bolt on, not adhesive stick on. There's a lot of options to choose from on eBay, OEM and aftermarket.

I grabbed a set of Magnetic covers on fleBay for like 75 bucks. Looked great.

I ordered a set from Amazon because they come in a day and my truck is having paint work done this week so they can also spray them. A few reviews say the fit isn’t great so I hope that’s not the case. Can’t really test fit these before installing.

The ones I received didn't need to be painted. If there are fitment issues, I can't tell. Unless they are egregious, I doubt anyone looking at your truck will notice, but you can post some pictures once you get it all done. I wish you well. Probably one of only a few mods on my truck that isn't OEM from some trim level. In my case, unless you are a mirror cap expert, you'd be hard pressed to know these aren't OEM. Hopefully, the Amazon offering hits the mark.

How do those caps come off? Mine have been rattling and I’d like to take them off and put a little silicone around them to prevent them from rattling.

They are held on with clips. If you just pull, you'll likely break a clip or two or all four. Lol. If you pop the glass off, you can remove the screws around the perimeter that holds the back of the entire assembly on. You'll be able to see the cap clips that way too.
