Default Mbrp

Been trying to decide which cat back exhaust to get and I'm leaning towards the MBRP dual out before rear tire for my 2016 5.0. Anyone out there have this set up? If so, are you happy with the look/noise level? I'm not looking to wake up the neighbors, lol. I originally was thinking the split dual rear exit but it doesn't come in the 304SS and I've read some complaints about surface rust with the 409SS. I live in Canada and salt is on the roads from November to April.

1st surface rust is just surface rust. unless your building a show truck it will be of no consequence. I installed the duel outlet behind the wheel "both sides" on my 2011 EB sound was pleasant for a V6 and not at all loud and no drone. No difference in performance or MPG. Only reason for install it was cheaper than replacing OEM damaged by road debris.

I bought this system for my 2015 5.0, sounds great but definitely drones quite a bit at the cruising speeds. I ended up doing the following:

- put the stock resonator pipe back on
- swapped the MBRP muffler for a 1-2 Magnaflow
- kept the MBRP pipes from the axle back to retain the dual outlet

Provides enough rumble at idle and around town but doesn't cause the dreaded drone in the cabin. So, if you want the MBRP muffler and resonator (for the price of shipping to NB) I have those lying around and you could just have some pipes fabricated up to create the dual outlet.

so your "before rear tire" system had pipes from "axle back"????

I have the MBRP S5260409 system, installed it in January. Down here in the south, I wasn't too worried about rust. And if the tips get surface rust, I'll just paint/powder coat them black, I have a black truck.

I have absolutely zero drone. I spend a lot of time cruising at speeds from 40-80mph and have never experienced any drone. Even while towing...It could be the SuperCab that is shorter, so puts the muffler a little further behind the cab wall. IDK, but I'm very happy with the system.

I have the Mbrp kit that exits in front of passenger side rear wheel. I ordered the kit in black coating. Sound is aggressive. I love the sound, not overwhelming but you definetly know it's there. My wife on the other hand can't stand it, she says it rattles her wine glasses in the house when I fire it up to leave for work in the morning. Lol

yeah, it's that cold start that gets ya. Once I put it in gear or it idles down when warm, it becomes a nice deep sound.
