I had an old 1989 Mustang 2.3 liter that the muffler fell off man that thing was loud! I could all of a sudden beat 5.0 mustangs because of all the exhaust noise. Those were the days...

The spelling in that video leads one to think is was made by a 10 year old, though the points are mostly true.

Murica! is the only explanation needed for the 5.0.

So that's a no. There is no point in comparing an ecoboost to a forced induction 5.0 if it is going to cost you tens of thousands of dollars on a forced induction kit, labor, other parts that need to be upgraded, and an additional warranty. The Ecoboost already comes with alllllll dat and outperforms the 5.0 in most things.

Coming from a 5.0 owner.

Wow...these 5.0 vs. EB posts are all over on this site.

I think everyone knows the EcoBoost will blow the doors of a 5.0...just how it is.

But with that being said...people that buy the 5.0 don't buy it because it's faster...I mean for f*** sake...it's a truck...who cares?

People that buy the 5.0 buy it because it's the most "truck-like" engine Ford offers for the F-150...sounds great, performs well towing or empty, should last a long time, and has FFV capability.

I bought the 5.0 with 3.73 and it has guts. Not as much as the 3.5/2.7...but it gets the job done...gets decent mileage...and hopefully will last as long as the EB, if not much longer. I'm not saying it will, but it is a much less complex design.

As for what the sales guys push...they are always pushing the EcoBoost. I was surprised that when in negotiations on my new one...I kept getting pushed towards the EcoBoost. I'm pretty sure Ford is training their guys to push the Eco...it's really weird actually. It's like the 5.0 is the redheaded step-child...

Ford put a lot of money in to the ecoboost design and concept, so they will try and push it as much as they can to get their moneys worth
