Default max tow package

Max Trailer Tow Package includes:

• 3.55 Electronic-locking rear axle
• 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• Auxiliary transmission oil cooler
• Class IV trailer hitch receiver
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector (standard on LARIAT and higher)
• Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
• Upgraded front stabilizer bar
• Upgraded rear bumper

so what is the "upgraded rear bumper"

I believe steel plates are added to increase the strength.

i searched all over the build site and the "UPGRADE" is not defined

it struck as odd , because the receiver hitch is where all the heavy towing is done.

I have the the tow package on my 2013 kr and the rear bumper is pretty thin

That line in also on the previous gen trucks. The bumper may be the same but I think there is reinforcement where the receiver attaches to the frame. You can't tow anything with the bumper anyway.

Can anyone explain why the max tow packages come standard with a 3.55 rear end and not the 3.73, does not seem "max" without 3.73 gears...

It used too. Must be because of the weight savings they figured they didn't need it. It's all a numbers game. If true it benefits us because most of the time your not max towin. So your getting better mpg with the 3.55s.

Because to actually tow the MAX, you need the HD payload package. When you add the HD payload package, the axle is changed to the 3.73
