Default Max Tow??

Yes its probably been discussed before.....
But what does the package do specifically to the rear end?
As in another leaf?
I've always tried to get max tow....just because.
But might go to the dark side and buy a V8 again....just because
And max tow isn't available obviously ...

Max tow gives you the following over the standard tow package:

3.55 Electronic-locking axle
Integrated trailer brake controller
Upgraded rear bumper

Yes I know....
There has been some that said it has upgraded rear suspension....
I cannot find that anywhere...
I'm assuming it doesn't
FX4 appears to have stiffer springs...

If you plan on getting EB & 3.55 gears, definitely get the Max Tow package:

Max Tow Pkg (with 3.55 gears, brake controller, & upgraded bumper) = $995
Regular Tow Pkg + 3.55 Gears (w/o controller & upgraded bumper) = $1165

There's no suspension change with the max tow package. It's only got what the std tow package has, plus what was mentioned above.

So, what is an "Upgraded Rear Bumper" and how would you know if you got one?

Who cares about the bumber?? Whats really bull**** about max tow is the dinky receiver hitch that comes on the truck 5000 lbs/ 500 TW.. The springs appear to be stock. FX4 is shocks not springs. HD payload would be springs Im guessing. EB tows on my truck appx 1500 more lbs than 5.0 based upon gearing and other factors believe it to not, i couldn't. At any rate, I'm replacing the hitch (so i don't need WDH) and adding airbags to get to a tru max tow.

Supposedly it's the same bumper but with reinforcements inside. Having not received mine yet I can't say exactly, but that' what I've heard. I guess Ford assumes that if you're going for max tow, you might want a stronger bumper than the guys who just got tow. *shrug*
