Default Making it a Raptor

Taking the transmission and power out of the equation. Price wise, what would it take to match or exceed the raptor off road capability? When it comes to off-roading I know exactly nothing. I'm just curious from a price standpoint of going aftermarket compared to the raptor.

IMHO if you are thinking you want the off road capability of a Raptor, its better just to buy the Raptor to start out with. I can't even imagine the list of upgrades that would be needed to achieve this.

^ this. Yeah, not sure what mrapple means but you can definitely "build your own raptor" for a few grand. You'll end up with a much more unique vehicle this way too, call it your own!

Don't forget wheels/tires and gearing.

It's cheaper to just buy the Raptor, but if you want better than Raptor look at the stage 12 or stage 18 from Rogue Racing or the Raptor Conversion from RPG offroad. You also have to consider insurance coverage if the vehicle is totaled and resale value. If money is no object, then get the Raptor and turn it over to someone like Stewart Raceworks to build a luxury prerunner. You can look up the previous raptor luxury prerunner from them, but you're looking at 500k plus.

the stage 12 kit from rogue is $20k plus and it can go up from there. Lets say you want to get equal raptor suspension numbers:
Baja kits mid travel $4000
king 3.0 $2600
Fiberwerx fenders $550
Fiberwerx bedsides $800
paint $?
Labor $?
35" with 17inch wheels $1800
2.5" rear shocks $800
Bumper: use the rogue for example $2500

That is over $12k with no labor or paint charges. You would still probably want to re-gear also which is pricey. I'm going to guess the raptors will be upwards of $60k when they come out. Imo it can be worth it but you still wont have the new engine, off road mode, new raptor specific frame etc.

Lol, 6-8k to match a Raptor? I would love to see that truck vs a raptor in a Baja race.

Aren't the axles wider on the raptors also? I see you quoted the bedsides and fenders.
