Default Making a bed cover

Hello everyone, I am lucky to be the owner of a 2015 F-150 V8 Lariat in France !
I want to make an aluminum bed cover that I can walk on to put our 5 bikes for our vacation.
On the top of the bed are 4 holes. I would like to know what is the use of these holes? Can you find specific inserts on the market?

Thank you all for your help, kind regards, Julien

HEY WELCOME TO THE THREAD!!!!!!!!

Thats a beautiful truck you got there.

So as for those pics..... those are stake pockets, for inserting 2x4 wood (or other material) stakes. Look up bullring flush mounts, I purchased a set for my trucks front and rear stake pockets.

Good luck. Lots of questions. How did you get an f150 in France?

Do you find driving it over there a bit difficult with narrow lanes and french parking? I

And where are you? Typically when I get over there I end up around Toulouse.

Welcome.
This guy made a DIY cover for his Ford's bed. Just an idea.

Hello and thank you for your replies! I didn't know about this "bullring flush mounts" mounting system, it's interesting. I will take inspiration from it to fix my structure.

I live in the north of France, near Dunkirk!

The truck drives very well in France, except in underground parking lots!!

First good looking trk & welcome to the forums !!
Suggestions: you can manufacture anything you want to fill those stake pockets (wood /aluminum/steel etc.)....you will see a side hole into each pocket....which you can insert something to really lock down/ in whatever you build.....Go on the internet & google "Back Rack" It is a trade name & very very popular in Canada & the US..... You can also manufactiure your own design ...I make mine out of 2''x2'' x 1/8 steel or aluminum .....your design can be endless!! You can also extend a support rail to the rear pockets Good Luck & happy cycling !!

2 sets of these. They take a couple minutes to install.
