2018 xlt 2.7 4x4. A blink after start up the truck feels like it’s in gear. This has occurred enough that it has got my attention. Truck operates better than ever since it spent some time at the doctor. Any ideas?

“normal” apparently. Happens to everyone’s on occasion. Both of my 2020s did/do it once in a while.

wait till you remote start it and it clunks so heavy you think it just ripped the driveline out and pogo sticked it. it has to do with the solenoid that controls AS/S i believe.

Ok, by "everyone's", I take this to mean just AS/S owners. If this occurred in my 2015 3.5, I'd presume it to be a sign of impending failure, as an automatic transmission should never engage while in park.

Correct. The AS/S works with trans in drive, it has to decouple the output shaft when it engages so the engine can be restarted without being in neutral or park. also while taking off from a standstill you will hear and feel a clunk from time to time.
I thought it was a u-joint that was going out. still bothers me every time it does it.
