How do you change the volume of the navigation directions in Google maps and Waze on Android Auto?

When I rotate the volume **** down during the directions it just goes right back up again the next direction it gives.

 

Mine did this once- I turned off the speed sensitive volume option in the radio. I do not know if that helped or if it was a fluke but my iOS Auto consistently stays at the volume level I set it ever since- until I disconnect the phone.

 

Try adjusting volume on the phone while she is talking.

 

That even works when the wife is calling.
