Default Lost key

I've misplaced or lost the extra key to my 2017 F150 I've been real careful for the last few months while I've looked the house over for the lost key. This morning I locked the only key I have inside when I arrived at work and had to call AAA to unlock the door for me. The guy have a rough time as the truck locked down when it figured out it was being tampered with.

Can I get a door key only to place in a magnet holder under the truck at the Ford dealership ? I stopped by a few hardware stores and they just shook their heads.
Thanks....

I can only offer a different solution/suggestion. Sorry idk about getting a new key tho... I'm guessing you have an xl with out the key pad on the drivers door. I would look in to getting one of them.

Dealership service manager quoted $80 (Canadian) for a programmed, precut sidemill key, without a fob. But his parts manager said he could only order a fob for my truck, not a key without the remote part.

I got the blank off eBay, cost about $45 shipped to Canada, had it cut by a local locksmith for $25. I programmed it myself for free since I had the 2 original fobs.

If you intend to leave it somewhere on the truck, just don't program it so anyone who might find it can't use it to start the truck.

Thanks so much, that's exactly what I'm looking for to just open the door. There's a local lock smith near my workplace, I'll call him to see if he has a blank like I need before ordering and if he can cut one for me.
Thanks again, I hadn't thought about going that direction.

This is the blank you need (Strattec Part #5923293), likely won't find it this cheap anywhere else.

Perfect, I was having problems finding that type of key. I'll contact the lock smith in the morning to see if he can do the job.

Thanks once again !

Why didn't you use the keypad on the door to unlock it?

That E-Bay key will also work as a spare hide-out key for those of us with fobs only, but it is pricey for a plain key.

For some reason, I got 2 fobs and that plain key from my dealer. I think they used it in the window lockbox, so they don't lose the fobs. It works on the door.

Have you opened that fob? There might be a plastic key in it that's cut to unlock the same things that metal key will.

The Strattec key is not a plain key, it's a transponder key that can be programmed to start our trucks with an ignition barrel.
