I was crawling around under my new 2016 the other day and noticed a loose felt or foam panel with stringy adhesive. It appears to be a shield, maybe, between wiring for gas tank and the bottom of truck bed. Anybody have any insight. I would prefer to just rip it out rather than let it flop in the wind but don't know it's purpose. I'll attach a pic.
unless it's terribly inconvenient I'd take it to the dealer and have them fix it. It wouldn't be there if it didn't have some purpose. Might be something else going on there you don't know about that needs attention as well.

Thanks for the reply...yeah I really was hoping to avoid local dealers. I bought this truck hours away from my home but may have to bite bullet and visit someone around here. I'm really hoping it's just a sound deadening piece or something. Thanks again for the advice.
My 2015 did the same thing... It's a heat shield, carried it to the dealer and they glued it back in place.. on the road 10 minutes later.
Thanks for the comment; I actually just saw your post about this from earlier this year after a little digging; I have some 3M 90 spray adhesive so I may just give it a shot and see if I can save a haul to the dealer.
3M is dandy stuff, but sometimes dealers have access to better adhesives than what is available to the general public. I'd take a drive and let them do it.
I pulled mine off and discarded - it was barely glued on one corner so I suspected it was something left over from manufacturing/assembly. Is this something I should address?
