Default Looks like I'll be ordering the extended warranty

I just hit 9,750 miles and the oil life monitor went off letting me know it's time to change the oil. I was going to change the oil and when I removed the "diaper " I noticed my oil pan is leaking.

I currently have an appointment for 12/4 to have the driver side seat looked at because it moves around whenever I hit a bump or take a sharp turn. All this with less than 10k miles isn't very comforting but I really like this truck so hopefully it's the only issues I have with it for a while.

Thankfully I was able to find a dealer to look at it tomorrow(Thanks Mid Bay Ford Lincoln) since the dealer down the street from my work couldn't get me in until the December 4th appointment.

I guess I'm not understanding why an oil leak and lose seat means you should spend over $1,000 (assuming you use one of the online dealers)? The first year is when most things shake out.

the 2017 models had issues with leaky oil pans. Ford replaces it and I dont think anyone has had an issue afterwards. They probably didnt use enough sealant when they installed it. Similar issue the 2.3 ecoboost has with the front timing chain cover.

Also for your own peace of mind, I'm pretty sure the plastic oil pan is one time use, so they should give you a whole new oil pan when they do it.

That's true of the 2.7L Ecoboost but not the 3.5L Ecoboost

Funny thing, when I left for the dealer this morning for another warranty repair I saw some oil in the driveway. They called me back and told me I have the same issue.

I have a 2016 @18k. Purchased Jan 2017.

I took my 2017 3.5 in last Monday (11/13) for same problem. Told me I have a crack oil pan, ordered parts and I took it back in today (11/20) and I was just told I had to leave it overnight for the sealant to "set". At least they are providing a rental at no charge. Hopefully no issues after this.

I just got a call from the dealership and they said the seat is within spec even though it makes a clicking sound while moving the seat up and down(passenger side works fine). When I mentioned that the passenger seat doesn't do that, he said yeah but that's a different seat lol. They can't figure out where the leak is coming from so they put die in it and I'm supposed to go back in 300 miles so they can see where the leak is coming from.

I took it into the dealership yesterday and called today to get an ETA on when it would be ready. The service adviser said the oil pan is cracked and he has ordered a new one which should be in tomorrow so they can install it Monday. Here's hoping that fixes it for good.
