Default Looking for suggestions

I currently own a 2016 Lariat Crew w/2.7 eco. I absolutely enjoy this truck, the mileage i get from it allows me to take it on longer trips and not worry about gas.

I just purchased a travel trailer last summer (6800lb dry) and it tows it OK but has quite a bit of bounce to it (has a stabilizing hitch). I do not drive the truck much (has 11,800 miles). Best i can estimate is that i'm about 3k
neg. equity (owe 40150). I've been considering trading it in for a well used 3/4 ton truck. Mostly because i want to feel safer when traveling with my family in my truck when pulling the trailer.

Obviously negative equity is never a good thing, but any ideas in looking into 3/4 ton trucks? Best way to finance? Used or new? Or would i notice any difference with a different model/engine config with 1/2 ton?

Get a 6.2l gas f250. Even if used they are tanks and very reliable. 2011-2018

If you have a '16 and owe $40k + you have a hell of a lot more than $3k in negative equity. I'd suggest take your lumps and keep what you have. You'll be terribly upside down if you trade owing that much.

I was hoping the less than 12k miles on it made a difference

I re-fi'd my $62k sticker '18 KR 1 month after purchase and was told they would only finance $36k (at the lowest rate). Above that they considered it high risk.

Meaning that used trucks in the 40k range are not easy to sell?

Put some air bags under it, that should help with the bounce.

Gotcha. I'm not hugely motivated to change out. Ultimately I'd really miss the amenities of the lariat and gas mileage.
It is perplexing however why KBB would offer a used car trade in value average of 37800 on my truck. Doesn't it use transaction
market data? I've also been offered 37k on my truck with a GMC family discount which would be invoice. I passed on it obviously.
