Default Long Crank

Any one experience or experiencing a long crank intermitt? I remote started my truck the other day and noticed it crank for about 3 full seconds and then started. It's been doing it more and more since then (a couple days ago) Happens when I remote or normal start the vehicle. 5.0l btw.

I've had this happen before. More than once. 5.0 as well

Had this problem with our Fivehundred years ago. Turned out to be a bad injector that was leaking into the cylinder. Do you ever have a gas smell when that happens?

Oh the other symptom that show an injector issue is if it only happens after the truck sits for a while. Otherwise there is no time for the injector to drip.

Does it ever run a little rough at first for a few seconds, on a warm start? Mine did that shortly after I bought it, and I also experienced the long crank a few times. Turned out to be bad cam phasers. It took the dealer nearly a month to figure it out and fix it.

Had it on mine as well, but only when it was cold (first start of the day, or after it had been sitting for a few hours). The dealer kept it overnight so they could replicate it, and then I believe they changed the fuel pump/sending unit under warranty, and it has been perfect since then.

I'll check the paperwork next time i'm in the truck to see exactly what the work order said.

Haven't noticed any fuel smells or stumbles. I'll have it checked out at some point and report back

Mine does this too. At first it seemed only first start of the day, but it's definitely sometimes when warm too.
