Default Lock the gas!

Why can't I get a locking gas plug for my 2017 F150? I have a 36 gallon tank and want some security. Is Ford listening? I'd expect the aftermarket to be swarming, but no. No one is making these simple devices. Why not?

Probably because that is a lot of time and effort on a thief's part for $70-$90 worth of fuel.

It's difficult to get a hose into a full filler pipe anymore. People who do that kind of stuff would just as soon poke a hole in the bottom of your plastic
tank and drain it that way. Much quicker.

I'd be more concerned about some troublemaker putting a foreign material into the gas tank to cause engine problems. Wouldn't take much time or effort at all.

I know that a locking gas cap will not stop a thief, but it may slow them down or get them to move on to another easier target. I used the funnel that came with my truck and a $6 dollar walmart pump to transfer gas when I did the 23 to 36gl tank mod. The hose from the pump was small enough to fit right in the funnel and down into the tank. I do miss my locking gas cap from my 14 eco though.
