Default The Line Is Running!

Here is a financial video shot today with an interview with Ford CEO Mark Fields.

But, he appears to be standing at the end of the F-150 production line, in the QC area, and a whole slew of finished trucks are going by in the background. To me, it looked like they were all FX4's.

Maybe someone will see theirs roll by.

Seems like organized confusion on the line. Workers are crossing back and forth walking around etc. Wonder if that's the tailgate QC area. Nice to see the trucks going past. They are actually building them! Who would have thought.

Even saw a black Platinum and some with the 6.5 boxes. Nice to see those rolling by.

My understanding was they were selling the new (04+ f150) as the lobo for a while and the old (97-03) f150 as the f150 in mexico. Now I believe the Lobo is the higher trim f150s, and the f150 is xl only work truck.

Yeah, I noticed that in the video. As much as we would like our trucks first, Ford sells them in 180 markets around the world.

And I think those customers want to do a touchy-feely before they lay out the pesos.

So I'm sure that some of those in production today are heading out of the country.

Here is why.

Morgan Stanley estimates F-Series trucks account for 90 percent of Ford’s global automotive profit.

That quote about 90% is a typo. I googled it after I saw that and I was seeing the 40% number tossed around frequently...90% is absurd, no way it is correct.

Still a huge number considering F series trucks are only sold in any quantity in North America (USA CAN MEX). They just don't sell anywhere else...you'll see Iraqi and ISIL forces running around with f250 trucks and gm pickups all over, but that's a bit different, they're not exactly 'sold' there.

You're spot on. It's 40% "The F-150 pickup is Ford’s crown jewel, generating more than $20 billion in revenue annually and 40% of its annual profits."
