Just wondering , was at the dealer today and drove by a line of new f150s and noticed that all had the led light on the tailgate handle as well as the camera. Trucks were very close together and couldn't see exact models as I went by but was pretty sure there was a mix of xlt's and lariats. My 2015 xlt didn't come with it. I have the 302a so it has led box lighting. Do all the 2016s have it now or did my tailgate get short changed at the factory? Lol

 

my 15 has it. but is a lariat with 502a

kinda odd you'd have the box leds but not the tailgate.

I think tow package and/or pro trailer backup assist has the LED on the tailgate. My XLT has it and I have pro trailer backup.

 

My new 2016 XL has the little (LED?) light.

Really lights up the trailer hitch area.

Mine does have the trailer towing package. Maybe it comes with that.

 

I have the trailer tow package also. Hmmmmm. Must be a 2016 thing. Maybe I should trade it in for 16 to get it. Lol.

 

Buy a 2016 handle and tap it into the bed lights.

I didn't even know there is a LED available on the handle. When does it come on.....in reverse only?


I have the LED bed lights, never looked if there is a LED on the tailgate handle (to dark and cold now). Where is it located?
