Default Leveling with Upper Arms?

So in reading through the leveling lift thread and a few other places, it seems that you can get into trouble with 2"+ with the F150. I saw some people posting about angles on the upper arms.

I just bought a 2015 4x4 v8 and the truck came with 33's on it. It's completely stock other than that.

At 40k miles, I was thinking about doing these because I had a similar setup on a previous truck. They worked well, and those front shocks are probably half way through their life (?).

However, does it make more sense to add some upper control arms? At that point we're getting into the $1200 range and maybe a lift kit makes more sense? I do plan to go to 35's at some point in the future, but these 33's on the truck are brand new.

What do you guys think?

I went with an R.C. 3" lift with spacers n control arms with the kit for $549 bux.

Just after getting put together

notice upper control arm for 549 for kit 149 install not bad also 2" spacers in front and rear you could add billsteins later after it's got some air....and Piggy bank refills LoL 🤣

Added 2\" hubcentric spacers can run what ever tire I want now!!69 bux eBay

After adding spacers!!

Honestly, a 4" lift kit would make more sense. You could always get the Bilsteins later on and go up to a 6" if you wanted. I started with a 4" RC lift and added the Bilstein 6112's at 2" of lift for my 6" lift.

What about the ready lift 3.5" kit? They say it'll run 35's and probably not look too old with 33's right?

I don't do any desert racing, but I do get out into some flexy situations near my fishing spots here in TN.

Rough Country 3" kit comes with UCAs and rear shocks. No cutting needed, no extension lines needed. Will fit 35s on 20s easy.

Custom Offsets told me 3" without worries, I went with 2.75" because I knew I wanted 34"ers.

I just ordered the Rough Country kit... The guy at the shop said they do a lot of those.

Does it need wheel spacers for a factory 18" wheel?
