Default Leveling questions....

I am new to the concept of leveling a truck. When you level a truck (2.5 front lift I assume levels it) does it impact towing a 6000 lb trailer/boat? I tow a boat a few times a year and don't want to level too much if it means the front end of the truck will now be higher because of the weight of the trailer on the back. Any thoughts about this would be appreciated!

I put a 2" level on my 07 front only I tow my 19' fiberglass Ranger bass boat and have towed dump trailer with debris that at the scale at was just short of a ton (loaded) now I realize neither are close to the 6000 lbs your talking, but with both, the truck does squat a little. So not a bad idea to go with air bags at that kind of weight.

Your tongue weight of the boat or any travel trailer should not be that much.
When I hook a 21' skeeter to mine it doesn't hardly change at all. You might only have 100lbs tongue weight on most boats if they were designed right. 6000lbs has nothing to do with tongue weight. Most travel trailers utilize torsion bars which brings the nose back down how ever much you want.

My understanding is that the tongue weight is usually roughly 10% of the weight of what your towing.

I know some of you install the lift on your own. For those that had a shop/dealer do one, how much did it cost?

I know my boat isn't that cause I can lift the tongue to move it around. Have 3 average guys stand on your bumper and see how much it squats, should be the equiv to a 6000 lb trailer.
