Leveling Kit and Headlights
New to the forum, looked in other threads couldnt find anything. Anyone with a leveling kit have to adjust their headlights? How did you do it. Getting a lot of people flashing at me. Thanks in advance
It's a piece of cake, use a #2 Phillips head screwdriver. There's a hole on top of the headlight assembly. The screwdriver operates a gear to adjust the beam. That's the only tool you need. Lower the beam down to where you're happy! Easy peasy
I've never gotten fancy using measurements, though they are out there. I'll go to a back road at night and adjust them. It's pretty easy to get the happy medium of good visibility and not getting flashed by oncoming drivers.
park 15-20' from a wall and take note of where your headlight beam "cuts off" at the top; then lower your beam by however much you lifted the front (ie. 2"). I had the exact same situation, and was getting flashed by everyone. After doing this I still have great visibility and no one's flashed their highbeams at me

I remember back in the day when you received the yearly vehicle Inspection here in Texas they would check headlights. Does anyone know if they still do that anywhere? I remember when I worked at a shop as a teenager when we did inspections we used a device that was rolled over to right in front of each headlight, headlights turned on then there was a "bulls-eye" type mark you adjusted the headlight to the center of the mark for low beam / high beam. Don't recall seeing that done anymore.
