I have a 2016 Ford F150 Lariat Supercrew and would like to go to a larger rim and tire which would require a leveling kit. I know the larger tire will change the gas mileage but will it affect performance?
I have a 2017 Screw and just put a set of Rough Country 2" leveling spacers above the struts and upsized the tires from P265/70R17 to LT285/70R17 KO2's. The fuel mielage like you said has suffered, but because I have the OEM struts and shocks still on it, I do not see much of a difference in the performance. Maybe a slight bit of a power hit (3.31 gears, P rated tires were 31lbs and the KO2's are 57lbs each), but put it in Sport mode and do not see any difference at all. I chalk this up to throttle response between normal and sport modes.
The tiny bit of difference in performance (which is still pretty darn good) is far outweighed by the better look.

Sorry to derail the thread here, where'd you pickup that kayak rack from?

I am in Canada and bought it at a store called Princess Auto (Very similar to Harbor Freight. It is a 2 piece which I have clamped to the rails as I did not want to drill holes in the rails. I then mounted "J" racks on it for the Kayaks. I originally had a Kayak rack attached which held 2 Kayaks which shared the center support, issue U was having was, when reaching overhead putting the Kayaks in place, they had a tendancy to slip off the rack as it was to flat. The "J" racks seem to be a lot more supportive and have not had an incident since.
