Default Left vs right quick strut

I worry I may have mixed up my left vs right monro quick struts when unboxing. This pic shows the old vs new front drivers side units. Is there any way to tell if I have the correct side, monro does list different part numbers for each side.

Thanks.

When the bottom mount is oriented correctly the top three studs match up with the holes they go through.
If they are way off that strut goes on the other side.
Photo looks like a match.

The new strut should have a stamped or printed part number somewhere on one of the tubes.

The mount holes on the truck are flipped 180 on each side, so the shock would fit either way. The only obvious visible difference is the angle of the top spring cover depending on which side I put it on. Not sure if that angle actually matters or goes away under compression.

I would think the angle matters and won't go away when installed.
If it were mine i would install them so that the spring is at max distance away from the upper A arm where is passes near the ball joint.

Can you go to rock auto and look up your part numbers and see what matches the pictures there?

I forgot to mention year, it's a 2015. Both sides mounted up to the holes easily and the angle for the bottom mount seems right, but at the same time it feels like they are interchangeable as far as fit goes. For what it's worth autozone lists the duralast as fitting both sides for this truck, monroe does specify a different part number for each side though.

Not that big a deal as long as you have the upper studs rotated correctly to fit the three mounting holes. The bottom mount can be rotated a bit if you need to using a vice. No biggie.

I may not have explained it well. The angle that I'm seeing is just the top mount, which I'm not sure if it matters, or if it may even just be an illusion.

Thanks. I'm 90% sure I'm overthinking this, everything lined up nicely, but I have no experience with suspension work so came here to ask.

I just swapped sides because it felt like the angle of the top more lined up with the previous install, and the angle of the top mount on the truck. They fit exactly the same, so I'm not sure there's any real difference, but if anyone has a definitive answer I'd be happy to listen!
