It won't fit very good. Tailgates are very different. Saw a pic the other day on here where someone did it, but in my opinion it didn't look very good. Don't think it closed properly either. One of the tri-fold types might transfer better

You woundn't hapen to remember where you saw it right? i have to try to explain it wont fit to my 65 year old father in law that doesnt understand. h

My 2010 leer did not fit my 2017. I'm a few years younger than your FIL, it was my wife who gave me the headaches. Its worthless to sell yourself and the Leer dealer doesn't do trades or resale. Ask me how I know... Good Luck.
