Default led lighting below tailgate

Hello:
Just got on the forum and always wanting to learn new things. Problem is with a led light package which goes under the tailgate. I have a 2015 lariat, with a bunch of bells and whistles, the lights go under the tailgate and the plug goes into the trailer receptacle. No problem, except when you plug into this the computer thinks you have a trailer on, thus making the side and rear warnings inoperative. My question is, is there a way to wire it so I can still use all of the blind side warning and rear warning? I do not know where the computer picks up the signal from that you have a trailer on. If it is from the connector, would it be feasible to wire the lights into the harness before the connector? I can do this, but don't want to, if there is a different way to do this.
Any help would be appreciated, I know there are a smart bunch of guys that probably have done this before and are willing to share the info.
Thanks in advance

monster92 has a OPT7 and was a le to get it working.

Those are the only ones that have been proven to work.
