Default Toyo LT275/65R18C Tires

I have been reading all the reviews on AT tires and getting conflicting opinions on them as far as noise or roughness so here is my take on them. I just picked them up so I realize as they break in and wear things will change but I purchased the stock size that came on my truck. The only reason I changed them is I towed a little with the original Goodyear tires that came on the truck and they just weren't stable enough with the roads I tow on around here. I chose the same 6 ply rated tire I ran an my last truck except the last ones were Toyo AT's and these are the Toyo AT2's. I turned my decibel meter on in my phone with the old tires and then ran the same stretch of freeway just after getting the new tires on and there was about a 2 - 3 decibel difference at 70mph with 40lbs of air pressure in them. I did notice that when hitting imperfections in the road these are a little stiffer but after driving it about 15 miles I didn't notice it anymore. Handling was pretty much the same unloaded, just a little more solid feeling and I can't really tell any difference in the power, this tire is about 11 lbs. heavier than the original tire. As far as mileage goes I haven't been far enough to really tell but the bar graph in the dash looked to be running in about the same location so if there is a difference it isn't much. The real test will be when I hook up the trailer and tow it on a windy, hilly and not very flat road near my house.

wheres the gratuitous "I got new tires" pics. Plus I am considering the AT/2's for to replace my Good Year ATS C rated tires on my '14. I am down to the AT/2, Nitto Trail Grappler 2, Geolander go2015, Goodyear Dura-Trac and the Goodyear Adventure Kevlar AT. I would ad the BF KO2 but they don't have a C rated tire in my size (same as yours) The reviews and opinions are scattered across the board. So I definitely appreciate your write up.

I didn't post a picture because it has been raining here and the truck is dirty, isn't
there some rule about posting dirty trucks or something? Here is a picture anyway. I'll add another one you might want to look at and that is the Cooper AT3.

Thank you, I looked at most of those also and for me it came down to two things, the first is that I have had at least 3 sets of the Toyo AT's, two in 6 ply and one set in 10 ply on my last truck and they worked well. The other is in the Northwest anywhere I go I can find a Les Schwab tire store if I am having issues with a tire.

Here is a picture of it clean with a little more light on the tires.

I changed my factory tires out to these in 10 ply and really have no complaints. They are a bit loud but have gotten quieter with wear and have taken the squishy feeling away from the ride that I experienced with the Goodyear 6 ply.

I put snow tires on this December so I can't honestly say.
