Thanks for the quick answer.

🤞 Hopefully I won't need them either. 2016 XLT Screw Sport 302a here. I ordered the boots just in case, for 6.99 it's cheap enough to play with.

I'll post pics once they're installed.

FWIW, I've had mine in for well over a year now without a "proper" boot, just a slit in the existing cover. No problems whatsoever, no water/condensation in the lens or anything. I've been in all kinds of weather, hot, rain, mist, -40 degrees, etc... Still works great, never a problem.

Same here, slit in the boot and I did add some grey RTV in the bigger gaps around the cooling ribbons. 6 months, zero issues.

Do any of the folks who put LED bulbs in their halogen housings consider the other people on the road?

Someone stated they went out in the fog and couldnt get any good pics...thats probably from the massive washout of light.

Yes, that is why I took comparison photos to make certain headlight beams and adjustment weren't out of line. Halogens can be misaligned, are as bad and more commonly bad in lifted trucks.
Poorly installed, cheaply designed headlamps of any style are a problem. KM

First, that was me that posted the fog pic. And the reason I couldn't get a good pic wasn't because of any washout, it was because I was trying to get a pic of distance and cutoff.
Second, I started this thread because I DO consider other people on the road, and the entire purpose of this thread was to find LED lights that mimick Halogens, maintain a proper cutoff, and don't scatter light which blinds other drivers. I was sick of all the vehicles on the road that were blinding ME because they're using the wrong product and are either ignorant, don't care, or both.

So yes, I very much consider the other people on the road, which again is why I started this thread. Perhaps read the first page before passing judgement.

Please explain to me why in 6 months of use and literally hundreds of vehicles I have passed on 2 lane highway, that not a single driver has flashed me? We aren't dropping in HID kits from back in the day. My beam patterns have been posted here and other threads and has better cut-off than even halogen.

I see...so the lights you installed are DOT approved for on road use?

I got flashed all the time in my area with my halogens in and figured out my headlights were aimed too high. After I fixed the headlight aim I never got flashed again. Later swapped to the LEDs in this thread and still, nobody flashes me. Explain that.
DOT approved? Nobody cares. That isn't something that is enforced after the manufacture delivers the vehicle.
