Default leaking....still

Hello,

Im looking for some insight on my '15 F-150 leaking onto my feet from above the pedals. I have had one dealership tell me they don't know why it is doing it and the dealership I bought it from told me "its fixed" (I just picked it up 1/22/20), and after having the truck back for 12 hours, I came /outside after work to find water dripping down from my pedals and onto my floor mat, again just like before. I also found water behind my driver side seat, just like before as well. Called the tech, because I live 2 hours away from the dealership, and he told me he'd called me back before close today, and I never heard back from him. I have taken it to my local dealership and all they wanted to do was try to sell me a new truck because this one has had so many problems. I refuse to think that this leak cannot be found. Anyone else have any options/insight on how I can try and fix this? They told me they "checked" the windshield and hosed it down with a ton of water, and not one drop got into the cabin. I don't know how it miraculously starts raining and in this small time frame water is already getting back into the truck.

Thanks in advance.

Can you tell if it's related to temperature such as cold outside, warm cabin, etc? I assume in your original post this occurs only when raining, snow melt? No obvious plugs on firewall, floors, missing or messed up?

Im not sure if temp has anything to do with it. The dealership had it for a week, replaced something in my engine because it was making some really odd noises, which is now fixed properly. They said they drenched the whole front of the cabin and couldn’t get it too leak. I live in Michigan, and today we had a nice steady rain all day and when I opened the door, boom water dripping down the pedals. It’s done this on three other separate occasions when it rains. I’m just as dumbfounded as the two dealerships I’ve taken it too. I opened the hood, looked at the firewall, it’s all in tact looks good, got up under the pedals and now it’s bone dry.

The spot behind my seat, I have no clue either.

Climb under the dash while it is dripping and look. You should be able to follow it up a bit, maybe get lucky enough to find the actual intrusion point.

Yeah I did that once, I guess I’ll give it a shot again. At this point I don’t know what to do.

I had a similar issue a few months back. Going through the car wash and boom- water dripping on my feet. Dealership had trouble narrowing it down, but they were quick to point out that my windshield wasn’t OEM. I took it over to the local SafeLite shop, and in about 15 minutes, they found that the glue job around the windshield was leaking at the driver’s side A pillar. It was a $100 fix, and done in about an hour. Might be worth having a company that specializes in windshield replacement take a look.

I think that is going to be my next move. My windshield is OEM, as the dealership stated. I guess the seal around the windshield could be going bad. Thanks for the tip.

For next time it rains and you're able to check it out AND you're physically able:

slide your seat back as far as it can go and then lean your backrest back. Hop in the truck, take your shoes off, and sit on the floorboard as if it's your back rest. You can keep your legs up on the seat and do your investigation in a relatively comfortable manner. You'll look stupid to everyone, but it's better than hanging half out the truck twisting your back.

Don't ask how I know this...
