Default Leak

Can anyone tell me what the name of this location is? The dealers need hand holding here. How serious is the leak and is it safe to drive til they repair.Just doing my visuals before a 600mile trip. Its the front passenger side.

Forgot to say, I would have no issue driving, lots of trucks floating around with the same or similar leak!

Front passenger axle seal. Mine leaked as well dealer replaced it. Mine was forming actual droplets though. Yours look more like a very small seep that dirt, dust, etc has collected on. If no drops are forming I would say it’s not that serious and you’ll be fine on your 600mi trip. Could clean it with some brake cleaner and keep an eye on it.

Thank You guys. It is has dropped a few drops I seen it on the metal shield so I took the shield off to see where the fluid was coming from. Hasn't dripped from shield to floor so looks minor.

That is under your truck. Looks like you are laying/kneeling on the ground and taking a picture upwards.

If you tell your dealer (whatever that is) to raise the truck using one of their racks they can see under your truck more easily.
It appears there is a leak but it doesn't looks serious yet, seems like it's weeping more than leaking.

You're welcome.

In all seriousness -if the service department at a Ford Dealership can't identify, they probably have no business doing the work to repair it.
if it is the front right, Id say it is the front axle leaving the differential towards the right wheel. However it looks nothing like that to me.
It looks like an input/output shaft to a transfer case or transmission. Doesn't look enough like a driveshaft to me to be from the transmission. picture is too close for me to have a point of reference. I think the see the transfer case housing on the right side of the picture though. So probably front driveshaft?

Front passenger axle seal.

Fine to drive if you are not using 4wd. Also likely fine if you do use 4wd based on the leak rate, but thats the only possible reason for concern. Would need to leak out a lot since it holds 1.7L of fluid.

This. Very easy and inexpensive repair. My dad's truck has the same leak going on and we're going to do it when all of the control arms are replaced.

This^. Take your trip and schedule for you dealer to fix it when you get back. Had to have my driver side done last year, but drove with it like that for a while before I bothered to get it fixed.
