Default larger screen upgrade

I didn't want to highjack the China screen thread but it made me wonder what if.... Is there a reputable screen update out there? I am find staying with the same SYNC version I have but would like to go to a larger screen to update the look. The main thing is that everything must work. I think mine is currently the 9" screen. Looking for suggestions and to see what others have done. Thanks

You want a complete retro system or an Ipad?

I want what I have now just with a bigger screen, basically to function the same as it does just bigger. And correction I think it is actually an 8" screen and not 9", it's not the small screen, it was the common size in 2018 when it was new.

You have an 8" screen. There is a company that makes a Sync 3 to Sync 4 conversion with a 12" screen, but I personally don't think its worth it just have a newer version of laggy-*** Sync on a larger screen...

Yep, that's a lot of scratch to still be stuck with Stync. LOL

I looked at that and for the price it isn't worth it to me.....that is why I was hoping there was something out there to just upgrade to a larger screen in the current configuration. I would prefer a 12" but guess I can live with the 8". thanks

Any info gleaned? I’m tired of compromising features when all I would like is a larger screen as well…

I've done some searching myself, came across the fordsync site above as well as
. The latter was less complicated, but wasn't as 'integrated' into the center console as the Fordsync version, and both were pricey so I've held off for now.

I have the sync 3 to 4 conversion with larger screen installed, from infotainment. I love the screen, but every once in a while the wireless CarPlay gets buggy … and I can’t use some of the factory features like auto park. Not a deal breaker, but I would be just as happy/happier with my old sync3 and just a bigger screen.

I don't have the upgrade, but agree with the last sentence - would've just liked a larger screen with existing APIM/Sync3. I don't use Apple products, so Carplay was irrelevant, and the Sync4 conversions don't offer any real additional features, just a little eye candy.

My research up 'til now has determined if you have the 8" screen as I do, that's all you're getting without going aftermarket to these 12" screens with new Sync4 APIM alternatives. Someone please do correct me if I'm wrong...
