Keys in car
I've owned a 2010, 2012, 2014 and just got a 2018 the other day. I always leaves my keys in the car and unlock with keypad.
On the 2018 when I leave key in truck (not running) and I lock using lock button inside the truck I get the double honk and it doesn't lock.
I know I can use the the last two numbers on the keypad but I would rather use the lock button when I exit, can that be disable on forescan?

Think of it as a warning. The translation from car to English goes like this - "leaving your keys in your car is a farking dumb idea, you really shouldn't be doing that."
The easiest way to silence the double-beep is to remove the keys, place in your pocket, and walk away. Boom.

Not sure your model but on my 2018 XLT I lock the keys in the console every day to mountain bike and lock the door using the lock button on the door panel. Use the outside keypad to unlock. Have never gotten any type of honk - just works like you would expect.

I always leave my keys in the truck, and use the outside keypad to lock. In fact, I thought that was the ONLY way to be able to do it. I know my 2010 would only allow one to leave keys in by using the keypad.,,it would always just pop the locks back up and chirp at me.
My understanding in forescan you can disable double honk if truck is running and you walk away from truck. I'm going to disable that today but have a feeling if I use inside lock, close door it's going to unlock them automatically. My 2014 would let me do that.

IMA do you a solid, I already did the forecan thing with my 2018. I'll go see what it does.......
OK - So it will honk if you do or do not have the car running 2x if you try to leave with the key in the truck. Very annoying. If the truck is running and the door is opened and you try to lock it even with the door opened it also honks twice.
The double honk and driver door that won't lock from the lock button is actually meant to help keep drivers from accidentally locking your fob inside the vehicle and/or accidentally leaving the vehicle running after it's parked. If you are in the habit of using the keypad, locking your fob inside isn't a problem, which is why you can override it with the keypad. Whether it's smart to do so depends on the circumstance and I'm sure most people can figure that out for themselves.
