After 9.8% sales tax (WA) and fees, it'll come to around 45k OTD. I don't live in the South where it's truck heaven so people are saying that getting invoice price is a great deal, but I feel like there's some more wiggle room. TrueCar estimate for my area is 36.5K-37k. I'm hoping to get a deal around 40k OTD. What do you guys think?

Also found another identical vehicle at another dealership but without the tow package with a sticker price of 45k. I'm hoping 39-40K OTD is doable for that one.
The dealer I bought from (in Southern Illinois) had a map on the wall of the US with pins in just about every state representing where they've sold/shipped cars to. Have you considered buying a vehicle out-of-state and having it shipped, or flying in and driving it home?

I have thought about driving down to Oregon but the prices aren't that different compared to here. Plus I'd still have to pay tax since I'd be licensing the vehicle in WA. I don't really have the time to go out of state right now, but I am also in no particular rush. Just hoping I can get one by the time summer rolls around as I'll be going on road trips. Perhaps bigger sales and better rebates will come up around summer time.

You can also get an additional $750 rebate by requesting a brochure on Ford's site and saying you're buying in the next month. This will help you out a bit more and is no skin off the dealer's back.
I would say that "profit" means "profit" and not "doc fee."

I paid less for my 2017 that had higher msrp. Get a 17 with new 3.5 and ten speed.

I used to drive up to Seattle from Portland to get some great deals. Dealers are now savvy to that and add 3k to their f150's for out of state residence. That can be negotiated though.

agreed... what was your final cost? I'm looking to get it down to 41K/42 before taxes and licensing. That is, with a sticker of 52.5 K

I think you could do better by a couple grand, but you need to take the sales tax out of the equation to compare to what others are posting. Your 7.25% comes before over 5k in rebates, so keep that in mind when you plug it all in a calculator. All in all it looks like your dealer is only taking about 5k off msrp, which makes it right at invoice (I think invoice is 45,300 for this truck). They'd be happy to get that price right now, and x plan is the same and available to anyone who spends a few minutes signing up for a group like mustang club of america.

I'd shoot for 43,500 + tax - rebates, so around 41,100 OTD if you finance through ford or 41,600 if you bring cash. Get the brochure through Ford's site for another 750 off.
