It took me 45 minutes to install my 1.5" AutoSpring leveling kit. After removing the strut, I removed the 2 studs from the bottom of the strut, then took a wrench & repositioned the lower stud mount to let it go right back into place no problem. Reinstall the strut after bolting the spacers on top, then reinstall the bottom studs & use the nuts to pull them back through tight. Tightened sway bar end links, upper ball joints & tie rods....reinstall wheels & you're done. What's so hard about it ?
Forgive me if I'm wrong or misunderstand your reply, but if you put a wrench between the two studs and turned it, you rotated the strut which would cause it to rotate on the spring seat itself. These struts do not rotate like they do on the Mustang and other vehicles, they are mounted to the lower control arm, not the spindle, so they do not rotate like other struts.
If you look at area circled in the picture below, the spring would rotate away from the stop if it is turned:
