Don't thank me, thank @tmcolegr as he posted it in the following thread. I copied it for my own personal experience and knowledge due to my issues. So it was easy for me to repost it. Just forgot where I got it from so did a quick search.

I knew he had posted it, and I thought I had bookmarked it. @tmcolegr , has posted many things that are very informative. Learned a few things with his postings as well. Very nice having someone on the inside.
Needless to say, but this time I made sure I bookmarked it. Just thanking you for being able to pull it up and repost it.

I'd betcha that's exactly what happened.

Regardless, the grinding shouldn't be happening. My '17 did that with less than 500 miles on it. Had to educate myself how the system worked, and traced the problem to the checkvalve. Replaced it and 8500 miles later, no problem.
Others here have done the same with good luck as well.
Since the weather is turning cooler now, I suspect there will be more and more mention of this.
Ford has finally come out with a TSB on this, I don't have the number, and an updated hose/checkvalve assembly.
A YG360 valve also works, it has a slightly larger fitting on one end, but that's what is in mine

The truck was started idle dropped back and about a 1/4 mile down the road is when I heard the noise it was in the 40's and rained earlier that night,i would say it sounded like a car with no brake pad material left and metal against metal brake rotor!!Just makes you wander if any damage could have happened those couple times!!FWIW I didn't hear the noise at all Saturday night on the way home from work temps in the low 30's and drier air it rained Saturday morning but not in the afternoon or night!!Thanks guys for all your input.maybe i'll call the dealer and ask about the TSB and see what they say!!

Yes it is. The first YG360 I bought over the counter at my dealer, the same time they couldn't replicate the problem. The second I bought thru Amazon. I got just a little paranoid about it, so now I have two valves installed in series, or tandem, with each other, a little redundant, I know..

I’m still trying to figure this out myself problem is I don’t have a vacuum pump. However when I disconnect the rubber tubing going to the I WE actuator I do not feel any suction coming from the big hole. With the engine running **** and I feel suction in an attempt to get to the appropriate pressure? I tried on both sides and do not feel it is it possible that at some point during the QuickLook the install the one-way valve failed I’m not sure exactly how about they fail?

The checkvalve usually fails in the open position, pretty much the only way for the checkvalve to "PREVENT" vacuum would be if it was backwards. Oneway, checkvalve, backflow preventer, vacuum check switch, all the same thing.
Check your 4X4 fuse, look in owners manual, could be fuse #20, can't recall.
Look for a disconnected hose.
Check operation of the solenoid. Make sure truck is warmed up to operating temp, don't idle it, drive it. Turn truck off in 2H, have someone turn truck on, do not start, put your hand on the top of solenoid, and have helper switch to 4H/4A, you should feel the solenoid click, and likely hear it. If it doesn't, your fuse could be blown, or solenoid bad. There are a couple other things, but try all that before going further.
Vacuum pump can be had at Harbor Freight for $40 or less.
