Issues with 2015
Bought the truck used 6 months ago with 70,000 miles. 2015 XLT FX4 sport. 5.0L V8, 6 speed automatic. 4 wheel drive. Supercab 4 door. 5.5ft bed.
Issues I've had so far:
Rear window defroster doesn't work on the driver side; the middle and passenger side portions do work.
Fog light connector is corroded so bad that it doesn't always make connection. Will inevitably need the connector replaced.
License plate socket was burned up; it needed replaced.
Water is filling up inside the rear right door. Supposedly the dealership I bought the truck from replaced the door handle seal, but it's still filling with water.
Tailgate handle sticks open when used and does not spring back as it's supposed to. I have to physically push the handle back into the closed position.
Driveshaft slip yoke binds up so I had to buy the special lubricant from ford. Apparently the slip yoke needs to be continually lubricated which is a pita.
Leaf springs make a creaking noise when the rear axle flexes side to side; apparently the isolator pads need replaced. I'm waiting on the parts in shipping and will see if that fixes the problem.
Transmission shifts hard the first few shifts if I don't let the truck warm up for an abnormally long period of time.
Fuel mileage seems abnormally low. I get on average 14.7mpg which seems low. Most of my driving is stop and go city driving. The last tank of gas, I filled up at 33 gallons but the tripometer shows I used only 25 gallons. Where did the other 8 gallons go? That tank of gas turned out to be 10mpg. Maybe someone is stealing my fuel? No locking gas cap is available. Needless to say, I'm paying close attention to fuel mileage now. I did install an aftermarket AEM intake with no tune shortly after buying the truck but doubt it would drop fuel mileage substantially.
I tried to get the wheels off to service the brakes; wheels are stuck and will not come off. I tried hitting with a hammer, kicking them- nothing works.
A design flaw I've noticed: when there is rain water on the hood but it's not currently raining, every time I come to a stop, the rain water blows up onto the windshield, forcing me to flick the wipers everytime I come to a stop. Super annoying.
Also, it seems to take an abnormally long time to warm the truck up inside when it's cold out. I know it's a big truck but you'd think after the truck runs for 15 minutes with heat on high it would melt the snow and ice off the windows. Note: it doesn't take an abnormally long period of time for engine coolant to get up to temp, so I don't have a thermostat issue.
The first month or so I owned the truck, my right leg would fall asleep while driving. This went away so I guess my leg got used to the odd location of the pedals?
It's super annoying that when switching radio inputs I have to cycle through ALL of them in order and there's no way to change this. No I don't want to mess with forescan.
Oh and the spare tire lock is missing. Anyone know where I can get one?
Anyone else have these issues? And what can I do to remedy these issues short of paying the stealership a ton of money when I know full and well they're not going to solve the problem anyway and probably won't even care in the first place.
Note: I'm an ex-mechanic and was ASE certified as a master level technician so I know a thing or two.

Yes, all of these things I've noticed in the 6 months I've owned the truck. Now I know why the previous owner traded it in. Lol

Check for burnt out wires on the glass, and check the connector
Fog light connector is corroded so bad that it doesn't always make connection. Will inevitably need the connector replaced.
License plate socket was burned up; it needed replaced.
Dielectric grease should be applied to exterior sockets periodically
Water is filling up inside the rear right door. Supposedly the dealership I bought the truck from replaced the door handle seal, but it's still filling with water.
Clean out the drains at the bottom of the door. They are small and so is the space between the panels, so they tend to clog
Tailgate handle sticks open when used and does not spring back as it's supposed to. I have to physically push the handle back into the closed position.
First time I've heard of this happening. I'm betting the spring has popped off and this can be easily be fixed.
Driveshaft slip yoke binds up so I had to buy the special lubricant from ford. Apparently the slip yoke needs to be continually lubricated which is a pita.
Should only need to do this every few years. If it's left to bind for some time before cleaning and lubing, it will return to binding more often.
Leaf springs make a creaking noise when the rear axle flexes side to side; apparently the isolator pads need replaced. I'm waiting on the parts in shipping and will see if that fixes the problem.
Side to side creaking can also be an indicator of a loose u-bolt. Be sure to check them.

This is normal, as long as the engagement isn't too hard. Have you tried letting the transmission learn your driving style?

14.7 is right about what I get driving to work in an urban area. What is your highway mileage? I get 19.8 at 75mph with a 1.75" lift and slightly larger tires.
Unless you have performed some highway runs, manually checked your mileage and corrected the truck's mileage via FORScan, I wouldn't get too caught up in the mpg information it provides.

The longer they stay bolted to the hub, the harder they are to remove. Worse case scenario, use a piece of 4x4 and a bottle jack against the opposite tire to force it to break free. Emory cloth both the wheel and the hub to remove corrosion, and rub some anti-sieze on the junction before install to not have that problem again.

This is a problem for some but not for most. There definitely is a valley on both sides of the hood that has the potential to hold water, but the rake of the truck causes it to immediately drain off the front of the truck while standing still. Once you get moving wind can cause some to build in the valleys, but how quickly you stop determines when that water will roll off the front of the truck. Stop too hard, it will hit the front of the hood when there is sufficient wind to make it airborne and head towards the windshield. So, try stopping at different rates. Yeah, it sucks, but it's the price we pay for meaty looking trucks.

Do you still have orange coolant? It's known that a gel will precipitate out of it when air gets into the system, and the first thing that clogs is the heater core. Second is the radiator. Check that and that the vent solenoids are working and moving the gates, then change over to the yellow coolant.

That is a personal physical concern. XLT and below seats are not as comfortable as the upper trims, but they are pretty decent considering the submarine hump version 2 we all have to deal with in modern vehicles. There is good room, but some want more. Some say the seat is uncomfortable, others say it is a dream. We all carry around different butts.

I have a list of inputs on the screen. Is yours not touchscreen?

No one cares about the tire lock until they need the spare, then they have to crawl under the bumper and remove the clip to get it off because it's frozen. Do yourself a solid and squirt some grease in it twice a year and cycle it a few times so this doesn't happen again.

SCabs with 5.5 beds are indeed somewhat rare. The frame length does not fit other cab/bed combinations, so it's a one-off. The combination has not been available during each production year, and dealers don't order them. I'm guessing the reason we see them is due to a need to fill fleet demand periodically. The only one's I've ever seen have been just that.
