Default iPad dash -> backup camera question

So I decided on going with the iPad Mini dash today, and picked up my iPad after work. The site I am going through to get my dash kit, recommends a specific wifi transmitter for the back-up camera. I saw he answered a question on his youtube page stating if I have an aftermarket backup camera its as easy as plug and play. However, I have a factory installed backup camera that currently displays on the 4.3' screen. Is it possible to do without replacing the camera? If so, is it going to be way over my head with messing with the wires and such?

Caveat to the transmitter: it's much more expensive than ones I've found that come alongside with a camera, but not sure if this is one that has potential to be compatible with my stock backup camera.

Yes, you can use that wifi adapter and tie into your factory camera. If you have the lines that turn with the steering wheel, you'll retain those as well as you'll lose them with an aftermarket camera.
I can get you the factory wiring colors for the factory camera and you'd simply splice into them and plug it into the wifi adapter.

I like this idea but trying to figure out why the overlay is so much when it's just a magnetic mount. Am I missing something with the kit?

Tooling is very expensive, the price of a single piece isn't much, but the road to get there is a fortune. They are also all hand painted in a factory matched paint.

Are you the manufacturer?

Not the manufacturer, but in charge of helping develop it.

Gotcha. Was going to email some questions but glad the source is here.

What's the strength of the magnets? If I hit a bump is it falling off? If I slam on the brakes is it falling off?

Second, with the wifi for the camera. I have non data iPads and use my phone as a hotspot. Will my backup camera work on wifi when I'm using my hotspot or does the backup camera wifi take it over?

Can multiple cameras be used with that app?

I have the exact questions as well. I saw their video on YouTube that shows how to create a static address for it, but if it connects via wifi rather than solely through the app I don't see how it could not take over the hotspot simply because iPads can't connect to one more wifi network. At least that's is the basic logical answer .

We use neodymium (rare earth) magnets that have a pulling force of 11.4lbs each on the North Pole and 1/2 of that (5.7lbs) on the South Pole. We use a total of 8 of them. 4 of them on the backside of the radio bezel and 4 of them are embedded into the iPad mini kit. Since they are magnet to magnet, each contact is 17.1lbs, since the attract north to south poles, the 4 combined points total 68.4lbs. Ipads are maybe a pound so it is severely over engineered. If you simply stuck one magnet to the back of the ipad, and stuck it to a piece of metal, it would hold it all day long.
I drove the F150 for 2 days and the kit did not even so much as shift a 32nd of an inch. It is an incredibly strong mount. Plus the kit is contoured on the back side exactly the same as the front of the bezel so it fits like a puzzle piece and that helps keep it exactly in its place.
There is a setting you can change that will allow you to keep your wifi from your hot spot so the camera wifi doesn't overtake it.
You can use multiple cameras as long as you have a switching unit. A very simple one is all that's necessary. I'm sure I could find you one online for $20-$30 I'd imagine. Or 4 SPDT relays could be wired to accept two camera inputs and an output to the wifi device.
Either way you go with a switcher, you'd need a physical switch to trigger it. An easy automatic way to do it without you physically needing to flip a manual switch would be to wire the switching unit up to your reverse wire, so when in reverse, the backup camera is automatically selected and when it's in park or any other gear, the other camera would be selected as the source. I'd imagine you'd be using the second camera in the front, so that would be a perfect solution. But you could technically wire in many cameras, you'd just have to expand your switching unit.
You could even put 2 cameras on the sides of the truck (blind spot cameras) and have them automatically switch to display when you put the corresponding blinker on.
Here's a link of how to change the iPad's settings so it doesn't overtake your wifi.
