I don't think this is the dealership trying to pull a fast one at all. Those are indeed Ford charges included on the invoice.

Example:

Attachment 569646

With that said, however, the dealer can sell you the truck for whatever they want. They can discount those charges off if they want, obviously. Nothing is *required*.

My advice, as a former salesman, is to inform them that (assuming the truck is one that you really want) you will buy it, but that you will not be paying those additionals. However, I would also suggest that you haggle the price as much as possible first, then throw that in there.
Aggie, are you saying the fuel surcharge and advertising fee is something that they added to the invoice?

I would say so. I went back and checked the invoices I looked at before I ordered mine and none of them have the fuel or advertising charges on them.

Correct

I really dont know why people get so hung up on the invoice. Doesn't make a spot of difference. Having worked as a VP of Supply Chain in a past life it used to crack me up how some of my buyers would send a whole lot of time trying to work out what the manufacturer's cost of a product was....then I would go and negotiate a much better price, without any prior information!!!

The only thing that matters is what the seller is prepared to take for it, regardless of what it cost him...

this ^^ whether its from the truck MSRP/Sales Price or from sale of the loan, the house always wins.

In a similar thread like this a member posted that their spouse job was to create fake invoices to show customers at a ford dealer...

Trying to be a smart shopper here. $1500 to me is a big deal.

And i am just trying to find out if these are legit fees or fake invoices.

Joe Myers Ford in Houston, TX. Was legit. Gave you the truck for invoice - rebates - holdback. Doc fee was no more than 99 bucks. Happy with the experience and they gave a free window tint and spray in liner.
