Default Invisible Securi code Keypad

So I use to own a '14 Fusion and it had an invisible securicode keypad. I now own a '18 F150 and was wondering why they didn't do the invisible keypad to make them look more cleaner. Would it be possible to install the fusions keypad to my f150? Has anyone done anything like this?

They didn’t do it because Ford got feedback when designing the 2015s that people liked the tactile feedback that real buttons provide, particularly when wearing gloves and stuff like that. That’s why the current gen has hard buttons for things like heated seats that were previously only within the Sync screen. I much prefer real buttons, so I for one like the current setup.

I am no help on swapping over one of the other keypads. Maybe check out the Lincoln Navigator part and see if it is the invisible style and if it will swap over?

I prefer the button keypad on my 2017 F150 over the invisible keypad on my wife's Lincoln 2015 MKS. You can't operate the Lincoln keypad with gloves and even without gloves it's not as responsive as an actual button.

I like the way the flat one looks, but ya it's horrible to use with gloves on (escape has it), doesn't pick up your fingers.

The physical buttons always work, summer or winter which is nice.

Yeah I didnt think about not being able to use gloves with it. I think I'll just keep the buttons in that case.

Yep, the buttons are way better! The wife has the smooth ones on her explorer and they suck on cold wet days.

Ford trucks can be loaded like luxury cars but Ford builds trucks to work as trucks. The physical buttons work when you have on work gloves and when they are covered in mud.
