Default Flush or Not - Wheel Offset

I've searched hours for a similar setup to compare, but can't find one. Think it's due to the unusual 9.5" wheel width and +12 offset.

I'm looking to get 18x9.5 wheels with +12 offset and 285/75r18 tires.

I want to stay flush with the fenders and am not looking to "poke" outside of them.

Will this setup achieve that or is it too aggressive?

Without factory fender flares, +12 will poke a bit. Too aggressive? That's a matter of taste. I don't like tires that jut out from their wells, and I think +12 would be alright, especially if you have factory fender flares. With bare fenders... you may get spray quite a ways up the panel. And the tires may stick out past the fenders at the top.

I have 18x9 +18 wheels with factory flares. It's just right in my opinion. My tires are exposed at the bottom of the fenders as they curve inward at the bottom, so I get road spray on the bottom few inches of the panels. The tires are almost even with the flares at the top.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the stock flares.

what size tires are you running?

Do you think the 0.5 extra inches of wheel width have an affect? Or does it come down to the width of the tire?

I run a 305-65/R18. I think the width of the tire will have more effect than the width of the wheel. Now, if I understand offset correctly, the center of an equivalent offset 9.5" wheel will be 0.25" (~6.3mm) farther out than a 9" wheel. And your +12 will be an additional 6mm farther out than my +18. So figure a 305 tire on your wheel would be about 1/2" further out. Not too bad. I'm picky and I would probably run that. I like mine where it is, though.

You're going to bring the tire out 32mm from the offset change then another 6mm for the wider wheel (the 5mm for the tire should stay within the wider wheel so it shouldn't be counted).
This is going to bring the sidewall of the tire out 38mm/1.496" (we'll go with 1.5" to make it easier to measure.
Put a level on the wheel well of your truck, get it plumb and see how much space you have between the tire and the level. This will tell you approximately where your new setup will be.

I have a set of Ballistic Scythe 9” wide with a +12offset and the stock 275/55/20 tires stick out about a half inch. So your wider wheel plus tire I would bet to say would stick out close to an inch.
