Default Interior wiring question

Probably a dumb question, but - -
I want to put a Quick fist rubber mount on the center bottom portion of the dashboard, below the little tray in my 2020 F150 to hold a flashlight. I plan on using 1 small self tapper, probably a #8. Is there any wiring right behind that spot that might be damaged?

What year/model? Flow thru center console, or no? I don't remember seeing any wiring behind the trim panels that cover the vents, in the area you mention. But I put a flashlight bracket in my big center console, that way it's out of sight but still charges

My truck is a 2020 XLT, bench seat, fold down console. The space I'm looking at is a little area just below the small tray in lower center of the dash, at floor level. I tried to use Velcro but it didn't work.

It's not that hard to take the outer layers of the dash off. Anyone who says "yes" or "no" is just guessing... you need to pull things off and prove to yourself that there is no wiring behind. You may also discover than one small self-tapping screw will quickly loosen or pull out of plastic - a nut, bolt, and fender washer on the back side to spread the load out will be a much better solution.

Thanks, I was just thinking of that. I'll try to get behind there and probably use a small toggle bolt. In fact, I have a little video probe I've never used yet. Good time to try it out.

Or the fact that yes, I have removed those panels, several times. I've replaced my head unit, run several sets of speaker wires, etc. So IMO, someone who says yes, or no, may have an idea of what they are talking about. Just my 2 cents though.

Hope the install goes well - without the center console, what would you think about putting the holder in one of the door storage compartments? Or in the lift up storage in the seat?

The lower storage under the seat is now occupied by my new Console Vault. I think I'm just going to use a self tapper through the top of the tunnel, right up against the lower panel. I looked - there's nothing under there. I don't want it rattling around in the door panel because I'm sure it will work loose from the vibration.

A self-tapping screw is unlikely to remain tight in thin plastic over time. IIWY I’d place a tiny steel clip on the backside; one of the 1/2” square shiny clips that are typically used on fender flares.
