Hey all,

2019 super crew cab. Just noticed a gouge on the hard plastic on the armrest panel surrounding the window switch on my rear door.

Going a quick parts search on Ford website, it looks like the entire interior door panel is one piece, and I can’t just buy/replace that one small part. Is that right?

Looking to replace just the scratched part surrounding the window switch.

 

Looking at my own rear doors and the below parts diagram that I came across while looking for something else, is it part number 6 from the diagram in the link below? Looks like part number 7 (the actual switch) fits inside part number 6 (which I'm assuming is your damaged bezel). No part numbers on this diagram, but it does appear to be a separate part. Not sure if this is what you are talking about. I can't really tell if the switch itself is a two part assembly and the bezel is actually attached to the door panel. Hopefully, this is at least a starting point. The second link is a switch assembly on eBay.

I’m in Mobile so maybe the first link isn’t working properly? I don’t see a part 6 in there. However, the linked part that does show up doesn’t seem to be the part I need. It’d be the part that surrounds the switch on the second link.

I appreciate you looking into it, I think I should just post a photo of the part in question (which I’ll do and update this thread in short order).

 

OK. That piece looks somewhat like an extension of the armrest. Not sure that is a separate part. However, if you take a door panel off you can see where melted plastic studs secure most everything on that door panel together, so that piece may be removable in an unconventional way. I came up with a way to swap for Lariat armrest covers a while back, and that's when I saw how the door panels are put together. BTW, my Lariat door mounted armrests are not shown as separately available parts from Ford, just like the diagram below shows. I got them from an eBay vendor who somehow came across a lot of them prior to being installed on door panels. The part numbers on them do not show up for a parts manager at a dship, at least from what I could see. I'm guessing the same would be true for this part you are looking for. But I may be mistaken and somebody with better info can reply.

I would hate that scratch BTW. I've had success with a Sharpie followed by an immediate dry paper towel wipe down for thin scratches on black surfaces in numerous vehicles.

I'm replacing the door pull covers (part 5) on all four doors with XLT ones due to gouges on the stock STX covers currently on my truck.

 

Mate that was brilliant suggestion. The sharpie pen really masked the worst of the blemish. Thanks!

Sharpies great! Also try Mcquires paint scratch remover and then black shoe polish, it’s amazing!
