Intelligent Access Key
For my last 3 F150s I got in the habit of just locking my key fob in my truck if I want to run in somewhere for a short time and then unlocking the truck sing the keyless entry code.
I'm curious if this can still be done with this new intelligent access key? Do any of you purposely lock your intelligent access keys in your truck? If so, how do you do it?

This can be done with the truck running, I do it to avoid the two peeps of the horn you get when the FOB gets to far from the truck, I believe the reason is peeps is to remind you the truck is running. I just leave the FOB under the ash tray cover.

On my 2015 Lariat there is a compartment in front of the gear shift (just below the heat/AC controls). Push the door forward and lift up the rubber "floor mat" in this compartment. You will see an indentation for the key fob to hide it. Replace the floor mat and no one will ever know its there. (unless they just read this post....LOL) I've had my key fob there since I bought the truck and never have to worry about forgetting my keys. Like the previous posters said, just hit 7/8 & 9/0 at the same time and it locks all four doors. Just don't forget to create your own 5 digit code!
If you plan on keeping your truck for about 5 years or more, be aware that the keyless entry buttons will eventually fail. In the past, my wife and I would leave our key fob in our Lincoln and Ford and lock and unlock using the keyless entry pad. In about year 5 on both vehicles, the buttons on the keypads simply wore out and would not work, and replacing the keypads is not cheap.
