In that case it would be a hard pass for me, ours were very unobtrusive and I did a lot of research to make sure what they tracked. I was pleased that I got a bigger discount than my wife did, I finally got to prove to her that she drives like a spaz. lol

If I had to stop on a lonely back road to take a pi$$, it would record that on video if you weren't standing back far enough! LOLOLOL!

Agree. Read some of the threads on automotive computer systems. These things can track your radio volume, what doors are open and closed, which windows are rolled down, which seats are occupied and which one have their seatbelts latched, if you're talking on your car's phone and probably even the number that you're talking to, how hard you take corners, IF you come to a complete stop, if you SLAM on the brakes, how steady your steering inputs are, your GPS location (and thus the speed limit) and your actual speed, and a hundred other things that can be used against you. EVERYTHING gets transmitted over the car's data bus and these modules will log everything that they're told to.

I forgot to mention that our Smart Treks had to collect data for nine months to give an insurance evaluation for a discount.

We use one agent for everything except medical. He provides something most don't see these days and wouldn't value if if they did. It's called customer service. Those who only use online services may have to google it to understand.

AAA just sends us a piece of paper annually to fill the mileage on the vehicles, and ask you if any of our vehicles were used for Uber, Lyft, etc. to qualify for for the verified mileage discount. They offered " the box" to our vehicles for my convenience so I wouldn't have to write down mileage and file it online. I declined, takes 15 minutes for 3, Same discount as the box, they see our ticket less and accident free records. They don't need to know if once in awhile you get the urge to " Hey bro wanna go".

We tried one and they said we stopped and accelerated too aggressively. That was my wifes car that was babied, brakes lasted 100,000 miles. Sent it back the first month.
