My system works great. Bought my parts from Banner, installed in 5 minutes, and about 15 minutes later, everything was activated by them. SUPER easy.

Does a dealer have to call and activate the SIM card and get you the 4 digit pin? I ordered mine yesterday before reading through this forum, form Tasca and it sounds like they do not activate the SIM cards. I have access to a Ford dealer that would do any truck programming for free (already have remote start so I don't think it will be necessary), but their price for the parts was $100 higher than Tasca. Who do I call for the activation?

Send it back to Tasca, and order from Banner. They'll help you get it going. Tasca won't, according to this thread.

@bannerauto this is a warning for selling outside the Vendor section. I have cleaned up a few threads with your advertisements. Keep all advertisements in the Vendor section and follow the Vendor rules or I will take action.

As for the activation, the selling dealer should do it, I know we do

In the above link there are photos of the installation kits for both the remote start and the alarm. Initially, I only wanted the remote start feature, but was told that in order to get the remote start to work, I needed the alarm as well. This definitely appears to be the case.

Onto the installation instructions.

Step 1 - Identify the ODBII port under the steering wheel. The photo directly below shows the BACK SIDE of the OBDII port.

Attachment 496223

Step 2 - There is a little clip in the middle of OBDII connection (on the back and in the middle) that needs to be pressed in. You can see this in the photo above. The clip is attached to the connector that is removed. Wiggle the connector from left to right while pressing on the clip and the back of the connector will come off.

Attachment 496224

Step 3a & 3b - Take the Y-harness with the 3 connections that came with the alarm system and install the 2 ODBII ends. One end goes to the fixed end of the OBDII connector on the truck, the other end goes to the other end of the ODBII connector (the one you just disconnected). You are essentially adding in a jumper.

Step 4 - Install the alarm 'box/ by taking the 3rd y-harness connection and plug it into the only receptacle on the box that will receive this connector. This is the black connector on the right in the photo below.

Attachment 496227

Step 5 - Insert the Remote Start Module connector into the alarm 'box' in the only receptacle that it will fit into.

This is the white connector shown in the photo of Step 4 above.

Step 6 - mount the alarm box. I chose to grab some 3M double sided foam tape (not provided) and stick the box to another electronic module just above and to the left of the brake pedal. MAKE SURE TO ORIENT THE ALARM SENSITIVITY DIAL SO THAT IT IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE. Later on you may need to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm.

The Alarm box is on the left side in the photo directly below.

Step 7 - mount the remote start box. I chose to again use 3M double sided foam tape (not provided) and attach this to the other side of the same electronic module. I twist tied the remote start cable/wire out of the way and then wrapped one zip tie (provided) around all of the modules and boxes to hold them together.

The RMS module is on the right side of the photo shown in step 6 above. You can see the bright LED shining on that box.

I hope the photos and write up are helpful.
Will this work on a 2018 with remote start?

Reopening and old thread, but does anyone know if there is a Valet option for the Alarm? Sometimes a bad thunderstorm or loud noise from a dump truck/garbage truck sets off my system. I would love to have a way of disabling the shocks sensor/alarm if I know something could set it off like that.

Thanks!

You can adjust the sensitivity with the **** on the side of the module. See page 6-7 on the attached.
