Run it in 4A--problem solved! Especially in the rain it works wonders---

at that point he'll probably need traction bars to prevent wheel hop

That's fine until I'm on a dirt road, then I'm hooped. And, as mentioned, wheel hop... Gotta stick with a tire that's good on and off road, but not the best on either. It's how it is.

or just learn how to work the throttle.... the same way people drive drag radial muscle cars in the rain. Same way I have no issues taking off pretty aggressively from the stop light in the rain without blowing the tires off or crashing into the ditch like a jackA. The same way that other member here launches his 2wd procharged truck at the track and does fine. Throttle control....

I have off road tires on mine, and my truck doesn't break loose easily unless it starts raining after not raining in a while. Off road, is a different story. But I've had the truck long enough to know the throttle response so it doesn't break loose off road unless I want it too.

My 95 would break the back end loose all the time, even with 35x12.50's on her. You just learn throttle management after a while.

Newer truck may not break loose as easily due to configuration, but not 100% sure. It could be traction control advances too. 12 years between models and all.

My truck (2015 2.7L SCAB 4x4) loses traction in the back end pretty easily. So what do you do about wheel spin if you add more torque and horsepower?
Have you put some weight in the back? Do you get into the power a little while after you're already rolling?

Thanks for your input.
What wheels and tires are you running?

Like I said in my first post here, "IF I romp on it" it'll break loose, but I don't. I know how to drive without spinning out like a rookie. Trailer pulling on a loose dirt road uphill from a stop was just a fluke and gave it too much gas. Probably should have been in 4x4 since it's 4500lbs dry, and the low speed campground road isn't well packed down.

y'alls traction control should be kicking in on those aspects, too.

Yes, throttle control. It's learning how hard to push to achieve your objective in the conditions you are driving.

I remember my dad telling me to be careful with my new truck because it'll break the tires loose very easily....but, I have not even thought about that since I got it. I roll on the throttle based on the road conditions.

It's been a long time since I've owned anything you could floor from a dead stop without sitting there spinning tires like a pimple-faced high school kid.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I have 295 ridge grapplers (fairly aggressive and soft) and if I give it 30-40% throttle with my tune the turbos spool up quick and I can hear my right rear tire spin (open diff). I didn't know if traction bars would help since it's not hopping, but definitely have to be cautious cause I don't want these to wear out too fast lol.
